SUMMERtime..the month of May...

My summer began on May 11th, the last day of SCHOOL.  It was a bittersweet day for me....After nine years of teaching at LoneStar School in Sapulpa, I am leaving LS and the classroom setting/curriculum coordinator to become a Reac3h Coach for the OSDE.  I  am excited and looking forward to opening new avenues in my goal to become a principal.

BACKYARD fun...NOT!

Last summer, with the help of Ben, my stepdad and mom, we added a  pergola over the small patch of concrete, aka:  PATIO..



...Our project this summer was to add flagstone around the patio to give us more space for our grill and chiminea.....With the help of Wes, this is now a completed project....and I love it!  Looking forward to sharing Ben's delicious grilling dinners with friends.

OWENS' WEDDING #2 and rehearsal...

On May 19th, Ben's brother, Sam, married Daisi Bross.  This was the 2nd brother in 5 months to get married.  Now, I can hardly wait to be included as one of  the "sister wives"...August 4th is approaching fast!!  Sam and Daisi were married in a beautiful wedding at the Holy Family Cathedral  and the reception followed at The Campbell Hotel.

MYRTLE BEACH...

On the 23rd, we met up with Ben's dad  and  his wife, Michelle,  and John, and Sam and Daisi and Adam and Morgan...WOW....9 of us!  We all flew in at different times...the boys played golf on Thursday while the girls got massages.....the rest of the time we enjoyed the beach, the pool,  an awesome amount of food and beverages...!

Lone Star Shower

My teacher friends hosted a beautiful shower for me on April 19th.  Their creativity and generosity amazed me...I'm so grateful to have such special friends. 
These cute green chalk boards were the centerpieces for every table with various sayings on each one.

"Thunder" helmets...

I don't know about everyone else but I thought the past week-end was very interesting weather-wise in the Mid-West....April showers, funnel clouds, tornadoes, thunder and lightning.....My mom got Ben and I bicycle helmets (thunder helmets) for our Easter gift, so we were prepared for the weather....

...BRING IT ON...

Fortunately, we didn't have to actually use them.....this was just a practice run...lol !  I can do without funnel clouds and tornadoes but give me a good thunder and lightning storm.....I LOVE thunderstorms !

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy birthday to the best mom and friend a girl could have!  We LOVE you and are looking forward to a fun night of celebrating....

Weekend Happenings

I LOVE weekends....!!!!!  My mom and  I started the day off shopping and to our surprise...we found a "mother of the bride" dress.  It is so chic and looks absolutely stunning on her.  I can't wait until she walks down the aisle before me in 4 months !!!!

After that, my mom helped me complete our registry at Dillard's.
On a rainy night over my spring break, Ben and I registered at Bed Bath and Beyond.  It was perfect... we were one of the only customers in the store.  Every time we passed an employee, they congratulated us ..(so sweet). Our registry wouldn't be complete without my past place of employment, Pottery Barn.  Now, we are all set for my first shower on April 19th with my school friends.

Saturday evening we attended Daisi and Sam's first shower.  It was hosted by their friends at Dolce Salon.  We had a lot of fun socializing, eating, and ending the night with an impromptu dance party.

Ruidoso

I left Wednesday with my mom and Paul and traveled to our family cabin in Ruidoso, New Mexico driving in around 10:30 pm.

 It is located in  southeastern  New Mexico....635 miles from Bristow.  Towering above the village of Ruidoso is the peak of Sierra Blanca at 11, 981 feet above sea level, also known as Ski Apache....We didn't ski on this trip but did make the pilgrimage up the mountain...12 miles UP a switchback mountain road.  In January 2011, Ben and I drove out for skiing.

I  LOVE this place  more with each passing trip, and I've been going since I was three years old...

 Many memories have been made here with my mom, sister, dad and now Paul...I've had fun trips with my grandmother, aunt and cousins, also.
This time our trip was full of  relaxation....well, maybe alittle, along with  eating,  shopping, sightseeing and taking in all of natures' beauties. ( Missing my sister on this trip.)
